Well, I’ve been away from the blog. The end of the semester did me in with comments on student papers, so it’s time to catch up.
I thought the series finale of The Office was fitting if not perfect. Even brought tears to my eyes a couple of times.
Everyone learned a lot, but Pam put it best:
“And, act fast because life isn’t that long.”
“There’s a lot of beauty in ordinary things. Isn’t that kind of the point?”
In terms of sitcoms, the influence of the mockdoc sitcom will last just as, I think, the best episodes of the show will hold up over time. Good to see the series rebound this season and go out on a high note.
Whether you love Steven Spielberg’s films, hate them, or are deeply ambivalent (like me), this is fun.
See what I mean?
I’ve been out of town at a conference (more on that later) and swamped with student papers, thesis defenses, and third year project defenses. I’ll come up for air this weekend.
It has been a pleasure, though, to watch some of this work come together. I am so very proud of a number of the films. Have I mentioned lately that I have the best job in the world?
